11 My child, do not reject the Lord’s discipline,
and don’t get angry when he corrects you.
12 The Lord corrects those he loves,
just as parents correct the child they delight in.
God’s discipline might be one of the most under taught subjects today. Why would God discipline his children? Because he loves them! The Hebrew writer reiterates this for us in Hebrews 12:3-11 and quotes directly from these verses. James 1:2-4 reminds us to be glad for the challenges we face in life as it makes us stronger Christians. This is what God wants from us, continual growth and service dedicated to him.
